38th Merimbula Jazz Festival 2018

Friday 8th June, 2018 - Tuesday 12th June, 2018

38th Meirmbula Jazz Festival

38th Meirmbula Jazz Festival

Hello Jazz Lovers

The organising committee is looking forward to the 38th annual Merimbula Jazz Festival in 2018. A remarkable achievement for a small seaside town in southern NSW! We are so fortunate to have such a welcoming location, marvellous venues, the ongoing support of so many musicians, the solid base provided by the Festival’s founders, the assistance of local volunteers and sponsors, and, of course, the support of Jazz Lovers who come from far and wide.

By all accounts the 2017 festival was a great musical success maintaining the high standards which we strive to achieve. We try to maintain the basic formula for this event which has served us so successfully for so long but will always examine possible improvements. The 2018 Festival will be held exclusively in Merimbula venues.

Merimbula is the “Festival for Musicians” – great musicians and their jazz music create memorable Merimbula Jazz Festivals. The format and organisation set down by the founding Committee has worked well for years, so, as the old saying still goes – “If it ain’t broke don’t fix it.”

For those bands and musicians planning their first performance, please note that we do not pay bands to play, nor do we pay for travel and accommodation. Bands register for free, but musicians are required to pay a nominal registration fee, and in return we provide a couple of drinks vouchers. After the festival, a small disbursement is usually paid back to the musicians who performed.

We look forward to seeing you again in 2018!
